What was initially planned?

In November 2021, we launched STÆDIUM. A smart and immersive strength gaming experience to revolutionize strength training and destroy boring.

We have been working on the concept and product for over a year, and are excited to bring this to market in 2022.

The STÆDIUM bundle was priced at a final retail price of €2,450, with discounts for early purchasers and composed of the following:

  • STÆD Console - A console placed on top of the TV with a camera and a processor to play the game through the TV
  • STÆD Base & Bench - A design base and bench for training that looked great and housed all the required equipment
  • STÆD Mat - A premium training mat that allows the user to step into STÆDIUM
  • STÆD Weights - Adjustable dumbbells that are recognized by the camera on the console and are an integral part of the game
  • 6 months free subscription, then €30 monthly subscription billed annually

What has changed since we launched?

The global crisis in the electronics industry, and more specifically in the manufacturing and supply of semiconductors, has unfortunately not spared us. The STÆD Console is one such product directly impacted.

In January 2022 it became clear that despite our best efforts to find workarounds and other opportunities, the chip shortage meant we had to reconsider the inclusion of the STÆD Console into the package.
The decision was made to remove the STÆD Console from the offer and the best solution we found was for you to use your own phone. These have a powerful enough camera and processor to enable gameplay.

However, removing the STÆD Console from the experience significantly changed the way we built and planned the software. The plan had been to use a mobile phone as a controller for the console. Without the console, this interaction had to be redesigned.

What is the impact?

Having to re-design the user experience and software for this new approach has impacted our timeline and shifted our planned delivery of Spring to late Summer.

A new bundle without the STÆD Console or STÆD Base.
Removing the STÆD Console made us rethink the product we were offering. We concluded that we wanted to bring strength gaming to everyone, and therefore make the whole bundle more accessible. Resulting in the following changes in comparison to the initial offer presented above.

The new STÆDIUM bundle will be priced at €765 with a 25% discount for Athletes having already pre-ordered:

  • STÆD Dock - A docking station connected to your TV for you to dock your phone to enable gameplay
  • STÆD Mat - A premium training mat that allows the user to step into STÆDIUM
  • STÆD Weights - Adjustable dumbbells that are recognized by the camera and are an integral part of the game
  • 6 months free subscription (for pre-order customers only), then €30 monthly subscription billed monthly

FAQ

When is STÆDIUM going to be delivered?
First shipments to customers will be made between September and October.

Why September/October?
With the new setup using a mobile phone and docking station, we have had to re-design the software and experience. We are also ensuring that STÆDIUM can be experienced on a majority of iOS and Android devices, with no difference in experience quality.

What bundle will now be available?
STÆDIUM is now available through a single bundle as described above including the STÆD Dock, STÆD Mat, STÆD Weights. (A monthly subscription is also needed).
